Shopping in Marrakech
Marrakech shopping is unlike any other European, American, or Australian mall. If you want to get the most out of the experience, you’ll need to be patient and open to bargaining.
The city’s medina is home to several souks that are all intertwined where you can get countless Moroccan souvenirs.
Traditional products from Marrakech

Craftwork
The majority of traditional Moroccan goods are manufactured by hand, and you may even see the artisans at work in several of the stores and booths.
- Tanned leather: Marrakech is a treasure trove of tanned leather goods, including shoes, purses, jackets, and more.
- Fabrics: Shoppers in search of new home décor pieces love our carpets, tapestries, and hijabs. If you don’t want to buy a carpet, you should tell the salesperson that right away. Otherwise, they’ll keep trying to convince you, and it could become annoying.
- Objects made of silver and metal: Marrakech is a fantastic place to shop for jewelry. Copper is also used in many other things.
Food Products :

- Dates : When Ramadan rolls around, Moroccans seek for dates, which have historically played a significant part in the country’s diet. At the stands, you may find a wide range of delicious delicatessen, each with its own price point and quality standard.
- Sweets: Moroccan sweets, which are a combination of honey and almonds, are very sticky and honeyed, yet incredibly tasty. Typically, mint tea is served with these kinds of candies.
- Spices: Marrakech is the place to go if you’re a spice lover since it sells hundreds of aromatic and colorful spices. You won’t find them for nearly as much as you would in the US or Europe.
- Moroccan mint tea: After chugging a few glasses of Moroccan mint tea, you may find that you long for the refreshingly sweet beverage. As a take-home option, you may purchase tea bags already mixed.
- Saffron: In most cases, saffron is a quite pricey spice to purchase. But this robust yellow spice may be yours for a steal in Marrakech.
Traditional medicine

You may get traditional remedies for any illness at one of Marrakech’s many pharmacies or herbalist’s shops. Any time you show interest in a cream or medication, the vendor will go into great detail about its contents in an effort to get you to purchase it.
Prices and haggling
The most popular souvenirs in Marrakech’s souks may range in price from very cheap to very expensive, depending on the tourist’s skill with the negotiating stick and how much they’re ready to spend. However, bear in mind that’s is not about the product, is about the support and contribute in the locals economy.
Shopping streets, markets and souks

It is difficult to determine the precise boundaries of the shopping districts in Marrakech due to the abundance of stores and stalls selling various goods. If you want to fully immerse yourself in “One Thousand and One Nights,” a must-visit medina must-see is the souks, an outdoor bazaar selling every imaginable traditional good.
Our recommendation is that you visit Gueliz if you are in the market for Western-style apparel and accessories. Avenue Mohammed V is home to exclusive shops and businesses.
