Horse Drawn Carriage Rides

Taking a horse-drawn carriage in Marrakech is an activity that no visitor should miss out on. The most recommended four-wheeled buggy ride is from Jemaa el-Fnaa to the city’s Palm Grove.

How much does it cost?

As is the case with the majority of other aspects of Marrakech, the price of the trip and the route that it takes are both up to negotiation. You may bargain with the driver for a better price until you reach an agreement.

It is recommended that you go through the Palm Grove till you reach the Palmeraie Golf Palace as part of your schedule. The duration of this trip is around two hours. Make careful to negotiate the price if your driver requests for additional money, which is quite likely to happen. The ride should cost between 200 dh (US$ 20.30) and 250 dh (US$ 25.40), so take advantage of the opportunity to haggle.

Between the Jemaa el-Fnaa and the Koutoubia Mosque is where the majority of the city’s horse-drawn carriages can be seen driving about.

Camel riding

As soon as you get to the Palmeraie, you will run across a number of different camel groups. You may go on a camel ride if you ask your calèche driver to transport you to someone who owns a caravan of camels. He will deliver you to the person who owns the caravan. Because he will get a fee from the camel owner for bringing him clients, the horse-drawn carriage driver will not mind waiting for you because he will be responsible for bringing customers.

During your journey through the Palm Grove, you will see a number of youngsters who will be running alongside your buggy. These children will most likely attempt to sell you their handiwork. The majority are constructed of palm leaves and provide a lovely appearance.
