Dar Si Said : Museum Of Weaving and Carpet in Marrakech
The Dar Si Said Museum is the oldest museum in the city and also has the most pieces of art on display of any museum in the city. It is the Museum of Moroccan Arts that is the official name of the establishment.
To begin with, Dar Si Said, much like other palaces in Marrakech, served as the house of one of the most powerful executives in Morocco. In this particular instance, it was the mansion that had been occupied by Si Said, who was the brother of Bou Ahmed, the grand vizier of Marrakech.
In addition to having two stories, the palace is large and has a number of terraces. Both the entry to the courtyard and the second story of the building include the most exquisitely designed decorations in the whole structure.
The largest collection in Marrakech
In comparison to the Marrakech Museum, Dar Si Said is much bigger. This museum is spread out across two stories and has a great deal more artifacts. Some of the oldest things in Marrakech are included in this collection, along with antiquities, guns, and instruments.
It is our belief that the palace itself is the most noteworthy component of the Museum.
